❏ Compile your guest list. Get a ballpark figure of the number of invites you’ll need
❏ Set your budget for invitations. The average price is $5-10 per set (100 invites = $500-$1000).
❏ Start researching invitation styles that catch your eye. Keep an idea file of your favorites.
12 months to go! (procrastinators = 4 months)
❏ Destination wedding? Select, order and send your save-the-dates.
9 months to go! (procrastinators = 4 months)
❏ Think about potential invitation wording. It’s a good idea to review it with family members.
❏ Think about how many enclosures you’ll need. (Will you need an accommodation card? A reception card? A map/direction card? Remember, Couture Invito can combine some of these cards because all of our elements are 2-sided!)
7-8 months to go! (procrastinators = 4 months)
❏ Schedule an appointment with Couture Invito to chat about your invitations and stationery... if you are a busy bride, we can also chat through email
❏ Local wedding? (especially with lots of out-of-towners) Select and order your save-the-dates.
6 months to go! (procrastinators = 4 mos.)
❏ Local wedding? Send your save-the-dates.
❏ Share your invitation theme and style with your bridal party (as if you haven’t already!).
5 months to go! (procrastinators = 3 months)
❏ Finalize your guest list. Note A and B listers, and get complete names and addresses.
Don’t forget to include names of significant others and children (if you’re inviting them).
❏ Make final decisions on your invitation style, wording, response date and enclosure cards. If you need assistance with the wording, Couture Invito is happy to help.
❏ Place your order for invitations... order 10% more than your guest list, just in case you accidentally forgot someone, an invitation gets lost in the mail and you will probably want a couple to save. (yeah!)
❏ Using a calligrapher? Couture Invito has staff calligraphers or you can choose to use digital calligraphy that is also available at Couture Invito.
❏ Addressing your invitations by hand? Start now.... Couture Invito is happy to provide you with your invitation envelopes in advance. We also provide and additional 10 complimentary envelopes ~ because we all make mistakes!
4 months to go! (procrastinators = 3 months)
❏ Review your proof.... Proofs arrive within 24-48 hours of placing your order with Couture Invito. Make all the changes you need, and approve it when it’s perfect.
❏ Pick up your invitations and envelopes. (or have them shipped to you)
3 months to go! (procrastinators = 2 months)
❏ Determine the exact postage required for your invitation and buy stamps. Couture Invito can help by weighing your fully assembled invitation...
❏ Assemble invitations, stuff and stamp envelopes. Couture Invito can assemble and mail your invitations for you... ask for more information. Or have a “stuffing” party and ask everyone to help –
but no food or drinks near the invites!
❏ Destination wedding? Mail your invitations 10-12 weeks prior to your wedding.
2 months to go! (procrastinators = 1 months)
❏ Local wedding? Mail your invitations 8-10 weeks prior to your wedding.
❏ Order your new stationery and thank you notes.
❏ Start receiving your reply cards. Use them to start compiling your list of place card names.
❏ If you didn't already, order all of your paper accessories. Don’t forget about table cards, place cards, menu cards and ceremony programs.
1 months to go!
❏ Rehearsal dinner and post-wedding brunch
invites are mailed. You might not be in charge
of these, but we thought you’d like to know!
2 weeks to go!
❏ Contact guests who haven’t replied.
❏ Finalize your place card list. Create your table cards and place cards or have Couture Invito do it for you.
The Big Day!
❏ Relax and enjoy your day! Enjoy all the stationery that you have chosen for your big day.
1-2 months later...
❏ You have two months to send a written note (or Thank You Photo Card) of thanks for the wedding gifts you received.
One year later!
❏ Happy Anniversary ~ The first anniversary gift is
